I am not sure why a flier has an attack value. No, it means it gets 3 shots with each of its guns, of which is has 4. So it has 12 shots. It has an attack value in case it's ever in melee, which it now can be see the "airborne" rule in its entry.


I love all of this with one exception — where are my ard boys? Why is a burna only d3 rather than d6? The damn thing is the size of a heavy flamer and appears to be the least effective flame weapon in the game! I suspect the reason they only do d3 autohits is for balance purposes. A regular flamer is d6, isn't it? A burna is a much larger, more impressive looking weapon. It doesn't make sense for them to be the worst flamer in the game. They aren't all that cheap after all they only have boy stats and the hits they generate are only S4 with no AP.


May as well just spend the same amount of points on more shoota boyz who will generate pretty much the same hits and be better in every other way. Hasn't anyone ever told you that having a larger, more impressive-looking weapon isn't as important as knowing what to do with it? The units that roll a single D3 and multiply that by the number of models do really annoy me, though. Arguably you could bring the warboss just for the waaaaagh ability and spend the points on more boyz….


I was happy seeing GW finally moving away from random negative outcomes for orks and giving more reliable outcomes. Unfortunately they seem to have just moved them to Chaos units oblits, especially.


There is no cost to take "sergeants" in squads; they're simply a thing you can have one of in some units. What is the minimum unit size for Nobz? The entry says 5 but the cost at the "Ork point values" says Power stabba seems to be a new choice for Nobz, extra ap-2 could be useful as Nobz are strength 5 already, cheap 3 point upgrade as well.


It was possible to have a battery mixing lobbas and bubblechukkas for example. Now if I want to have some lobbas with some bubblechukkas it'd cost me 2 heavy support slots. True but the little individual units at least wont have any morale problems, which could have been a serious issue. It makes sense points wise, but it's still a very weird way read : a totally stupid one to write things down.


And there are no ard'boys or scarboys in the army list. One could make an argument as to how the painboyz are supposed to work, if you take several in your army list. Do they stack? Mad dock Grotsnik has a rule that states that it does not stack with other painboys.


Would that mean all the "normal" painboyz DO stack? I would like to see a DIY option for a Warboss. I really haven't liked Zag's or his models for years. I would like to see veteran Stormboy unit's they would be a great blend of Scar and Ard boyz. If I read this right a Battlewagon with a deff rolla, grabbinkalw and weackin ball will have 5 extra attacks when it hits combat. That before da boyz even hit them. So a Morkanaut with KFF is now points? The war gear adding seems really inconsistent and confusing. I doubt it would extend from the base of the Gorkanaut else that'd be pretty busted in a Dread Mob but I think it would at least confer it to the Gorkanaut just like a Big Mek with KFF.


I had fine tuned the use of truck boys to assault, especially vehicles. The nob would always have a power claw and a chance to demolish the enemy vehicle early in the game. It seems the way to go now is to use weird boyz to get in there. As for ard Boyz I have spent a lot of time adding extra armor and putty to beef up units so the absence in 8th Edition is annoying. Now i'll say they are just normal boyz or, perhaps, cyborgs. First bunch of errata is out I found some information on the Nobz I mentioned B4.


Does that mean that a unit embarked also ignores the penalty for firing Heavy weapons if the battlewagon has moved? Do Spanners have a separate points cost in units of Lootas and Burnas?
